I grab the stone and place it in his hands where the pearl sat. Slowly I started to see Avery move. His breath became more predominant. !!It worked. As soon as he was able, he dropped both the stone and the pearl out of his hands. He looks at me and pulls me in for a hug. I let out a large sigh of relief knowing that he is okay. "We need to leave NOW," Avery says with panic in his voice. "Congratulations human, you are smarter than I would have guessed." "I will fix your friend's condition." Within an instant, Avery was back to normal and Lily had vanished. I tread through, over, and under rocks and branches as we go deeper into the forest. I stumble at the hands of a bump on the ground but catch myself before I fall. I look to see what caused my shuffle and am surprised to see it's just a small little stone. It's beautiful. [[I think I want to pick it up|pick]] [[I think I want to leave it alone|leave]] (This choice __MIGHT__ affect your future)

I squat down beside it and pry it from the earth, it was stuck in there pretty tight. I stand and shove the stone into my pocket. I notice a beautiful __Lily__ beside where it was resting moments ago. "You're falling behind," I hear Avery shout from a couple of meters ahead of me. "[[Coming,|goto]]" I shout and jog in his direction. <<silently>> <<print $Stone += 1>> <</silently>>

I glance at it one last time and notice a __Lily__ blooming right beside it. I turn my back and continue on. "Wait up," I shout to Avery as I start [[jogging in his direction.|goto]]

As I am moving toward Avery I notice a twinkle in the corner of my eye. I turn to see a small figure glistening in the light, I rub my eyes to get a better view. With my eyes glued on the sight, I don't notice Avery right in front of me before I slam into his back and knock him to the floor. "Watch where you're going <<print $name>>," Avery yells. "Sorry I got a little distracted," I [[offer him a hand.|hand]]

When Avery is at his feet and brushing off the dirt from his pant I notice he looks quite tired. "[[Let's take a break,|next]]" I suggest.

We stop to take the break when the sun is nearly setting. We sit in a small flat of land next to a river and I pull my shades on over my eyes. I pull a sandwich out of my bag and start working on it. "That looks yummy!" (Weird font) "Thanks," I reply before turning my head and realizing that wasn't Avery who just spoke. [[I gasp in disbelief.|meet]]

The creature in front of us is absolutely __Mezmer__ising. Small but at my eye level hovering in mid-air with its wings. Its skin glistens in the light and I feel as though it is too gorgeous for even me to set eyes upon. I glance over at Avery but am confused to find him staring at the ground before I remember #5 on the paper from earlier //Sunglasses can block a fae __Mesmer__, or not looking them in the eyes.// He reaches into his bag and grabs his glasses. And now we both have protection from the Fae His expression the same as mine when I first saw the creature [[I wonder what it wants|nextt]]

"I see you two have come prepared," the creature says with a smirk on its face "Well, that's wonderful it was starting to get boring around here," it speaks again with a small chuckle. I look the creature in the eyes, "what exactly do you want?" I say in a fierce tone. The grin on the creature's face grows larger, "I want to have some fun," it says. It flys directly in front of my face, I'm pretty sure it was trying to intimidate me. It worked. I fight back the urge to swat it like a fly. "shall we have some fun then?" Avery says to distract its gaze from me. The creature turns its head towards Avery "yes, yes we shall." The creature flys backward so it can clearly see both of our faces. "What shall we call you?" [[I ask]]

"You can call me Stone, and how about we start the fun with a riddle," the creature says. "Although it is no fun if there aren't stakes involved," stone exclaims. "What kind of stakes?" Avery asks. "If you get the riddle correct," stone opens her hand to reveal a small pearl. "You may have this!" Although we can both tell it isn't a normal pearl, it is gleaming with colorful light. //This would be the perfect PROOF we came here to get!// "And if we are wrong?" I choke on my words a little nervous. Stone smiles so wide that it reveals her sharp teeth "Then your friend must remove his glasses and look me in the eyes!" "Absolutely no.." I start to say before I am interrupted "We accept!" I look over at Avery my eyes shocked, [[why would he agree to that.|agree]]

"Here is the riddle my children, listen well for I will only say it once," Stone instructs. "Only one color, but not one size, stuck at the bottom, yet easily flies. Present in sun, but not in rain, Doing no harm, and feeling no pain. What is it?" [[Age|Wrong]] [[Shadow|Correct]] [[Name|Wrong]] [[Time|Wrong]]

I'm looking out the car window, drinking in all the beautiful scenery. Imagining all the adventures about to come. I have been looking forward to this trip for so long, I can't believe it's finally happening. "Hey we are almost there, stop daydreaming," a voice so familiar and kind comes from beside me. It's my best friend in the entire world, Avery! The only person I would want to be on this adventure with. "You're always so lost in your thoughts, can you even tell me your own name when you get like that?" he says with a little chuckle. "Of course I can!" I shoot back at him. "Well that's good <<print $name>>, I was starting to get a little worried" he exclaims as the car comes to a stop. "Finally, we are here," I say with excitement as I [[jump out of the car.|jump]]

Avery meets me at the trunk of the car so we can take out all of our hiking gear. We both stand there while we put on all of our equipment and right as I finish Avery closes the trunk and looks at me. "We need to [[review]] why we are here one more time," he says with a steady and stern voice.

"I already know why we are here," I tell him, a little annoyed because I don't want to waste any time. "Okay smartass," Avery exclaims with the raise of one brow. "Let's hear it then," he gestures one of his hands as if guiding me into a spotlight. It's obvious he wants me to explain it myself, sometimes I swear he thinks of me as a toddler. "[[Okay fine!|okay]]" I blurt out with anger.

"We are here to catch mythical creatures," saying it out loud brings a flush of red to my cheeks, it sounds stupid to say out loud. "Not exactly <<print $name>>," Avery says with a smirk. "We are here to get proof of them." "Right," I respond "Let's go over a few things before we go," Avery says. "[[Alright|ok]]"

"We are looking for Fae creatures, this is everything we know about them," Avery pulls out a piece of paper from his pocket and places it on the trunk of the car so I can see it. Fae Creatures 1. Beautiful 2. Deceitful, They will trick you into deals that sound good but are actually terrible 3. Most active at dusk and dawn 4. They hate __Iron and salt__ 5. Sunglasses can block a fae __Mesmer__, or not looking them in the eyes. 6. They love riddles 7. If you know their name they must give you one favor "That seems easy enough to remember," I say with a smile, eager to start the journey. I head in the direction of the forest but before I realize I am unable to continue forward, Avery has a grasp on my arm. "Hold on a sec <<print $name>>," Avery says "[[What?]]"

I turn in his direction with a questioning brow He hands me a small sac labeled salt, a pair of sunglasses, and a small iron kunai. "You can't be serious," I say with laughter in my voice. "They are dangerous <<print $name>>, I just want to make sure you'll be able to defend yourself." "As you wish," I curtsy in a joking manner. Avery scruffles my hair while I am still in my fake curtsy, and passes me "Let's go, princess." "Who are you calling a princess, you're more high maintenance than me," I shout [[running after Avery.|run]]

I stick the sunglasses on my face, the salt in my pocket, and the kunai on my belt. //I forgot to ask Avery what a Mesmer is, and if it's dangerous, It's probably not that important.// I tail behind Avery as we walk into the [[forest]].

"It seems you were not able to solve my riddle," stone says flying towards Avery. "Hold on a sec, wai.." Avery begins His glasses lifted up off his face as if by magic and Avery and Stone are now face to face. Avery falls silent and his eyes turn black. "Gather your things," stone says to Avery, and he does it with no complaint. [[Is this what a mesmer can do?|idk]]

I stand in disbelief watching as Avery follows every command Stone gives him. "Follow me now boy." "WAIT...STOP," I plead "This wasn't part of the deal!" "Yes it was my child, it is not my fault you humans don't ask questions!" "You can't take him," I yell, in a panic I reach for my [[Salt]] [[Kunai]]

I pull the Kunai from my belt and hold it in Stone's direction. "Help me fix this or you will regret it" "The thing about Iron my child is that you have to be able to reach me first," Stone smiles as she flies away, magically vanishing with Avery. [[I failed|End 7]]

"It seems you have passed with ease," stone says with a scowl. "As promised, the pearl is yours," Stone tosses it in Avery's direction. He catches it with his bare hands and Stone looks pleased. Before I knew what was happening Avery is frozen, he looks like a statue unable to move, with the pearl still sitting in his hand. "[[WHAT DID YOU DO?|what did]]"

"I simply held my end of the bargain," stone says. "This was not part of that bargain," I say with fear in my voice. "He isn't moving, do something!" "I only take action when there is something in it for me!" <<if $Stone is 1>> "However, child, you already possess everything need to break his condition" "what does that mean?" I ask Stone ignores my question entirely. "You best hurry, you only have a few seconds before his lungs stop moving as well!" Stone fly's off into the shadows till I can no longer see her. [[I quickly look for a solution|solution]] <</if>> <<if $Stone is 0>> "Well then let's make that happen," I shout with panic setting in. "There is nothing more that I wish from you child, your friend will stay like this for eternity" As Stone turns to fly away I panic and reach for my [[Salt]] [[Kunai]] <</if>>

I pull out the pouch from my pocket and throw a hand full in Stone's direction. I'm not entirely sure that was how I was supposed to use it but I didn't exactly have the time to think about it. To my surprise, Stone lands on the ground and starts to count every individual grain of salt I just threw. //so this is how salt affects Fae// "Since I assume you can not leave until you are finished counting every individual grain, help me now or I will throw more." "It seems you have bested me at the moment," Stone snarls while still counting grains. "I will reverse what I have done only if you answer me one question!" "[[What is it?|question]]"

"What is my name?" "How am I supposed to know your name?," I exclaim. "I will give you two hints": 1 - its fragrance is of nature 2 - it is where you stumbled but did not fall" I know her name it's: [[Rose|End 2]] [[Pebble| End 2]] [[Rock|End 2]] [[Lily|End 3]] [[Tulip|End 2]]

I pour out the content of my bag and pockets and look at everything in front of me I give myself __10__ __seconds__ to decide what would best help save Avery after all, Stone did say that I only had //a few seconds before his lungs stopped moving as well// I better pick it [[fast]]
